Quick Tip: How To Configure Your Social Sharing Plugins

A lot of websites I visit tend to forget about configuring their social sharing buttons so that they get mentioned in each tweet that is shared by people.

It’s really important to configure your sharing plugins to make sure that your Twitter name is enabled instead of either nothing or the creator of the plugins Twitter handle.

YOU want the recognition for the post that they’re sharing, so make sure that your sharing buttons are configured correctly!

This tutorial should give you an idea about how to configure any social sharing plugin.

    Humanize Your Audience

No matter what we’d like to believe, people online are real human beings.

Well, except those that are spam bots. BUT, humans created those spam bots. So in a twisted sort of way, they’re still human. Annoying humans, but still human. ;)

The point is, treat people online as if you would treat them offline and how you would want to be treated online. Humanize your audience so that your audience can humanize you and connect with you a lot better.

We/Us Vs. I/Me – Are You Solo or Not?

Something that I see a lot in social media is solopreneurs trying to look bigger than they are. Or big companies trying to look smaller than they are.

There are many reasons for companies wanting to look bigger or smaller. The obvious reason for wanting to look bigger is to “attract more clients.” A reason for wanting to look smaller is to “create a sense of a tight community”.

Either way, if you’re trying to be something you’re not; you will be caught and your audience will not be happy.
