What Is Your Purpose Behind Your Social Media Strategy?
In this weeks tip of the week, I ask the question: what is your purpose? In everything that we do with our business and in life, there should be a purpose behind it.
This is especially important for everything that you put online.
Why are you posting that tweet?
Why are you posting that picture?
Why are you posting that video?
Don't think too much into it, of course, but there should always be that purpose behind everything that you do.

My name is Morgan!...And I want to rock your social media world! ;) I LOVE what I do and I want to instill that same passion into YOU and your BUSINESS!

Hello Morgan! I can see from many bloggers’ posts that often they don’t think what they want to convey as a message nor do they think about what a reader can get from the content. This is why sadly they stay as monologues with few quality comments and remain relatively obscure on the alexa rankings. It is good to remind us all of how a post serves to share quality information.

Hi Zoe!
That’s exactly right. A lot of people use social media as a soap box instead of trying to connect with their audience by providing a purpose behind their message.
Thanks for the comment!
Great topic! Many people feel as though they “need to be on social media” – which is most likely true, that they should be on social media – but not without a strategy and specific goals to achieve. Not only will you not get the results you want without first establishing goals, but how will you know what results you want? What ROI do you want to achieve?
Awesome topic and great video, Morgan

Hey Melissa!
Exactly! You’ve gotta have a strategy but in order to have a strategy you need to understand WHY you’re doing everything in the first place.
Thanks for the awesome comment as always.
Cool stuff Morgan! I personally think it should be about creating a solid branding image to create a solid reputation over the long-haul. After that, you might be able to really generate some profitable business. Too often people simply tweet their own posts and then bail. That isn’t a strategy. That’s more like casting a line without any bait.

Hi Kalen!
You are correct, sir! Just tweeting out their own stuff is no strategy, it’s a soap box.
Thanks for the comment!
You are so right Moran… There definitely has to be a purpose behind everything we do online.
In the beginning I just did what I was taught to do not really understanding why either. I believe though as time went by I started to understand it much more. Why am I tweeting this post, why did I say that in that video and did that blog post accomplish what I wanted. All great points so especially for the newbies, think about what you are here to do and move forward with your message.
Loved your video and love your energy! Plus I love that you dog is right there with you too. Mine has ruined so many of my videos but I’ve learned to just laugh it off now. She’s just part of this.

Hi Adrienne!
I admit, in the beginning I had no goals, no path, no strategy, no nothing, either. But just like you, as I got more and more into it, I realized that if I’m trying to help people then I need to have a purpose. And like you said, it’s especially helpful for newbies.
Aw, thank you!
Haha, yes, I have learned to live with my dog just being apart of the videos. I think it makes it fun, though.
Thanks for the comment!
Some brilliant questions there Morgan and i think that most bloggers out there probably can not answer those questions. I often sometimes need to remind myself what my purpose is , what am i trying to tell my readers ect. A great video and over post. Thanks for the reminder.
